Our Senior Choir, of about 20 members, is a remarkably capable group. There is a wide span of ages, from junior-high age to well-past retirement age, all bound together by a love of quality sacred music and a commitment to serve the worship of the church.

Long service is a hallmark of the choir…many have served for decades.

The repertoire is varied. New items are added regularly, but examples of major pieces sung in recent years includes:

  • Faure: Requiem
  • Vierne: Messe Solonnelle
  • Rutter: Requiem, Te Deum
  • Handel: Messiah choruses
  • Howells: Te Deum
  • Britten: Ceremony of Carols
  • Gardiner: Evening Hymn
  • Bach: Chorales and choruses from cantatas

Firmly rooted in the classical sacred music tradition, we also venture to contemporary composers in the traditional idiom.

Many of our choristers expand their horizons and skills by participating in regional choral societies such as the Lakes Region Singers and Pemi Chorus.

For over 30 years, our church has been affiliated to The Royal School of Church Music,www.rscm.com, www.rscmamerica.org. Our singers, from junior choristers through adults, regularly attend RSCM festivals and extended courses and singing weeks in America and in England.

The choir sings an anthem and service music every Sunday, mid-September through mid-June. During the summer months, soloists provide a musical offering each week.

We invite new singers.  A non-threatening sing-along audition with Dennis and Doug is required.  We invite you to consider giving choir a trial, perhaps for a season like Advent/Christmas or Lent/Easter, or for whatever is best for you.  You will have a cordial welcome.
